About this file

This document is a Construction Bid Addendum No. 2 issued by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) for a Public Address (PA) System and Emergency Siren project at the Oaks Correctional Facility in Eastlake, Michigan. The addendum, dated 10/17/2025, modifies the original bidding documents with updated specifications, clarifications, and responses to bidder questions. Key changes include updating Specification 28 1800, adding a requirement to install and configure an owner-provided Cisco Ethernet switch at each building, and changing the specified speaker type to a Community #R.15COAX or Atlas Sound #SM82T-B in black.

The project involves a comprehensive paging system installation with detailed technical requirements for server components, speakers, microphones, touchpanels, and networking equipment. The system must integrate with existing infrastructure, support multiple paging zones, and provide emergency notification capabilities. Specific equipment specifications include Valcom and QSC branded components, with requirements for power over Ethernet, audio output, and compatibility with existing network infrastructure. The bid opening is scheduled for 10/22/2025, and the contractor will be responsible for complete system configuration, testing, and implementation, including conducting a system walkthrough with the owner to ensure proper sound quality and coverage in all areas of the facility.
