About this file
This is a Sole Source Justification document for ChildCare Food Services in Illinois. The document outlines the rationale for selecting Fooda as a sole source vendor for food services within campus facilities. Fooda has been chosen based on its established partnership with Food2U and its existing operational presence within the organization's campus kitchens. The vendor maintains the direct relationship with Food2U, which enables coordinated service delivery that would be difficult to replicate through alternative providers. Fooda is already fully licensed and approved to operate within the campus facilities and possesses comprehensive knowledge of site-specific requirements, compliance standards, and operational protocols.
The justification emphasizes that selecting an alternative vendor would introduce operational disruptions and service delays during the transition period. Fooda's existing familiarity with the organization's systems, regulatory environment, and facility-specific needs positions it as the only vendor capable of ensuring seamless continuation of childcare food services without interruption. The sole source selection is based primarily on operational continuity and the prohibitive costs and delays associated with vendor transition rather than competitive procurement.

Sole Source Justification – Fooda
Fooda is being selected as a sole source vendor due to their established partnership with Food2U and their existing licensing within our campus facilities. Fooda maintains the direct relationship with Food2U, enabling streamlined coordination and service delivery that cannot be replicated through another provider without disruption.
Additionally, Fooda is already fully licensed and approved to operate within our campus kitchens. They are familiar with our site-specific requirements, compliance standards, and operational protocols.
Engaging a different vendor would result in delays and potential service interruptions.
For these reasons, Fooda represents the only vendor capable of providing seamless continuation of services at this time.
