About this file

This document is a comprehensive study abroad program itinerary developed by EDU Africa for Malcolm X College, focused on "Culture and Identity in Ghana" scheduled for February 2026. The program is a transformative learning journey designed for students, with a structured 9-day immersive experience across various regions of Ghana. Participants will engage in cultural activities including visits to historical sites like the WEB Dubois Center, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, Cape Coast Castle, and Manhyia Palace, as well as community engagement opportunities such as a meeting with the Queen Mother of Asebu Traditional Area and a service engagement activity.

The program is priced on a sliding scale based on the number of participants, ranging from $3,000 per person for 15-16 participants to $2,760 per person for 19-20 participants, with a consistent $380 single supplement fee. The cost includes virtual pre-departure support, all transportation, accommodation, specified meals, activities, and a Program Facilitator. Notably, the program aligns with two United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Good Health and Well-Being, and Reduced Inequalities. The program also includes a $5 donation per participant towards ecosystem and wildlife conservation efforts in Kenya and Zimbabwe. Exclusions from the program cost include flights, personal expenses, travel insurance, and optional extra activities.
