About this file

This document is a laboratory testing report for asbestos analysis of bulk materials collected from Building 9694 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Alaska. The report, prepared by LA Testing and dated October 7, 2024, details the comprehensive asbestos testing of multiple yellow adhesive samples from the building's second floor. Using polarized light microscopy (PLM) with dispersion staining in accordance with USEPA 600/R-93/116 test method, the laboratory analyzed 44 separate samples from different locations.

The test results uniformly indicate that none of the samples contained asbestos. Most samples were classified as 100% non-fibrous (other), with some synthetic fiber samples showing minimal non-fibrous content (2-10%). The samples varied in appearance, including yellow, green, blue, gray, and beige colors, and were described as homogeneous or heterogeneous. The chain of custody documents confirm the samples were collected on September 16, 2024, by the 773 Civil Engineer Squadron, with analysis completed on October 3, 2024, by accredited laboratory personnel.

RE: JBER Building 9694 Asbestos Sample Analyses

Dear Mr. Murdock:

This letter is regarding the asbestos bulk samples from Building 9694 on JBER, Alaska that were dropped off at Satori Group’s office by Mr. Zaleski on September 30, 2024.

The bulk samples were shipped under Chain of Custody procedures to LA Testing in Huntington Beach, California.

LA Testing is fully accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for bulk asbestos fiber analysis. The samples were analyzed using polarized light microscopy (PLM) with dispersion staining in accordance with USEPA 600/R-93/116 test method.

For samples containing more than one separable layer of material, the report will include findings for each layer.

Each layer will be labeled with the sample number and material type (e.g., B0303-02-Tile, B0303-02-Mastic).

Review of the enclosed results indicates all samples tested negative for asbestos.

This report is considered by Satori Group as confidential. Satori Group will not release this report to any persons who have not been previously approved in writing. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions concerning your results, or for any additional technical assistance.

Respectfully, Alan Caldwell Operations Manager acaldwell@gosatori.com
