About this file

This document is an Insurance Requirements specification from the Nevada State Risk Management Division, effective May 9, 2016, detailing comprehensive insurance requirements for professional service contracts with the State of Nevada. The document outlines mandatory insurance coverage specifications that contractors must maintain throughout the contract period, including minimum insurance scopes and limits across multiple insurance categories.

The insurance requirements mandate specific coverage levels, including Commercial General Liability ($2,000,000 aggregate), Automobile Liability ($1,000,000 combined single limit), Workers' Compensation (statutory limits), and Professional Liability ($1,000,000 per claim). Contractors must provide certificates of insurance with insurers rated A-VII or higher by A.M. Best, name the State of Nevada as an additional insured, maintain primary and non-contributory coverage, and provide 30-day notice of policy cancellation. The specifications also require contractors to ensure subcontractors meet the same insurance standards, with the State reserving the right to request complete policy copies and verify coverage before work commences.
