About this file
This is an attachment to a Request for Information (RFI) issued by Jordan School District in Utah for network monitoring solutions. The attachment, titled "Vendor Differentiating Capabilities," serves as a template and instruction document for vendors responding to RFI #26TH10RFI. Vendors are required to submit this document as part of their RFI response, with responses limited to one page maximum. The RFI is issued in accordance with the State of Utah Procurement Code (UCA Chapter 63G-6a) and applicable Utah Administrative Rules. As clarified in the related contract opportunity description, the RFI is for information-gathering purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for quotations, bids, or proposals, nor does it represent an active procurement process that will result in a contract award.
The attachment provides detailed guidance for vendors on how to articulate their differentiating capabilities in a clear and compelling manner. Rather than requesting generic marketing language or feature lists, the district seeks specific explanations of what the vendor's platform does particularly well compared to competitors, how their approach differs meaningfully in architecture, philosophy, or operational model, and why those differences matter in a large-scale network environment. Strong responses should focus on a limited number of genuinely differentiating strengths, explain the value of those strengths in operational terms, and use plain language that is easy for evaluators to understand. The guidance emphasizes that thoughtful, specific responses grounded in operational reality will be more impactful than broad or polished marketing statements.

Attachment A
Vendor Differentiating Capabilities
(This document to be submitted with RFI response.)
Please read all instructions below to ensure all required documentation is submitted with your response. Responses are limited to one (1) page maximum.
This section is the vendor’s opportunity to clearly and concisely explain why your solution stands out and why it should be seriously considered for further evaluation.
This is not a requirement to cover every feature. It is an opportunity to make a compelling technical case for your solution in a way that is easy to digest for evaluators.
The evaluation team is not looking for generic marketing language or restated feature lists.
Instead, use this section to help us understand:
• What your platform does particularly well compared to others in the market.
• Where your approach is meaningfully different (architecture, philosophy, operational model).
• Why those differences matter in a real-world, large-scale network environment like the one described in this RFI.
Strong responses will:
• Focus on a small number of genuinely differentiating strengths.
• Explain why those strengths are valuable, not just that they exist.
• Use clear, plain language that is easy to read and understand.
Responses that are thoughtful, specific, and grounded in operational reality will be more impactful than broad or overly polished marketing statements.
