Solicitation 3D-A-14-0098 Responses to Supplier Inquiries
Upon a more thorough re-read of the subject solicitation and the 9 attachments. A clearer picture emerges of the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) requirement for fleet retreaded tires. In as much as the USPS desires its’ services to be used in the execution of the RFP process and ongoing communications, will it follow that shipping of retreaded tires may utilize the USPS to deliver finished goods to MVFs not currently serviced by our company?
A case in point is that our company uses the USPS exclusively for shipments of sets of tires to locations for example: Alaska. Will there be consideration granted by USPS to absorb shipping costs to these more remote MVF locations? And, if so, what value may our company build into its’ distribution model for such a provision?
· Tires intended for retreading must be picked up at the VMFs. Subsequent delivery of the retreaded tires to the VMFs can be made via transportation using commercial carriers or delivery services including the US Postal Service. Pricing requested shall be based on FOB Destination.
Who to contact regarding questions about EDI ie, cost, is it web based and etc.
