About this file
This is an Amendment to Solicitation (Amendment No. 01) issued by Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory for RFP# 387878-DSF concerning the procurement of CM 2K Pressure Safety Device – Rupture Disks. The amendment was issued on October 21, 2026, with an original solicitation date of October 12, 2026, and an opening date of October 27, 2026. Bidders must acknowledge this amendment prior to the opening date, and any changes to previously submitted bids must be received before the opening time via telegram or letter with proper reference to the solicitation and amendment number.
The amendment provides seven clarifying responses to questions submitted during the Question-and-Answer period. Key requirements established include: ASME and UD stamp certification are mandatory; installation setup is detailed in Figure 3-1 of the Statement of Work; leak rate and tightness requirements are specified in Section 3.9.2 of the Statement of Work; weld requirements are outlined in Section 3.9.1 for superior leak tightness in sub-atmospheric operation; the rupture disk cartridge assembly is welded for leak tightness and bolted to flanges rather than directly welded to the unit; and Inconel material is required for the rupture disk itself, while the cartridge assembly may use 316 Stainless Steel for inlet and outlet connections, with Inconel 600 noted as an acceptable alternative to Inconel 625. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged.

AMENDMENT TO SOLICITATION
AMENDMENT NO. 01 DATE OF AMENDMENT: October 21, 2026
SOLICITATION NO. RFP# 387878-DSF DATE ISSUED: October 12, 2026
PROJECT NO. N/A OPENING DATE: October 27, 2026
TITLE OF PROJECT: CM 2K Pressure Safety Device – Rupture Disks
Bidders must acknowledge this Addendum prior to the hour and date set forth in the solicitation as indicated in the
RFP, Section 6.
If by virtue of this Addendum you desire to change a bid already submitted, such change may be made by telegram or letter, provided such telegram or letter makes reference to the Solicitation and this Amendment and is received prior to the time set for opening.
The above reference Solicitation is amended as follows:
The following responses are provided to questions submitted during the Question-and-Answer period:
1. Are ASME and a UD stamp mandatory?
Response: It is mandatory.
2. What does the installation setup look like?
Response: See Figure 3-1 from the Statement of Work.
3. What is located before the rupture disk, and what comes after it?
Response: See Figure 3-1 from the Statement of Work.
4. Are there any requirements regarding the tightness or leak rates?
Response: See 3.9.2 from the Statement of Work for minimum acceptance criteria.
5. What are the requirements for the weld?
Response: See 3.9.1 from the Statement of Work. This weld is for superior leak tightness for sub-atmospheric operation of the Rupture Disk.
6. If the unit is to be welded vs using a bracket, would a sealing weld, not a tensile weld, be acceptable?
Response: The unit itself is not welded, it is a cartridge which is welded for superior leak tightness for sub-atmospheric operation. Cartridge assembly will be bolted to flanges shown in Figure 3-1 from the Statement of Work.
7. Regarding material requirements for the welded assembly inlet and outlet connections, please confirm whether 316 Stainless Steel would be acceptable for these connections, or if Inconel 625 is specifically required for the application.
Response: Inconel is required for material of rupture disk; however, cartridge assembly can be 316 SS.
Inconel grade 625 is not given as a requirement, may be Inconel 600 as an example.
All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
