About this file
This Addendum No. 01 is a modification document for Greenville Public Schools' (GPS) Fire Alarm Upgrades project, issued on October 26, 2026, affecting three elementary schools: Baldwin Heights Elementary (821 W Oak St), Cedar Crest Elementary (622 S Cedar St), and Walnut Hills Elementary (712 N Walnut St), all located in Greenville, Michigan. The project involves fire alarm system upgrades to be completed in phases over a three-year period during summer breaks, with Cedar Crest Elementary scheduled for June 2027–August 9, 2027; Walnut Hills Elementary for June 2028–August 7, 2028; and Baldwin Heights Elementary for June 2029–August 6, 2029. A pre-bid walk-through meeting was conducted on October 15, 2026, at each school location. Bids were due October 28, 2026, at 1:00 P.M., with public bid opening at GPS Administration Building; mandatory post-bid interviews were scheduled for October 30, 2026. Request for Information (RFI) submissions were required by October 19, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. Three RFIs were submitted by contractors regarding approved manufacturers: National Time and Signal requested approval as an acceptable voluntary alternate manufacturer; EPS Security requested approval for Honeywell Notifier as an acceptable manufacturer; and Universal Fire Protection requested approval for Siemens as an acceptable manufacturer. The AE recommendation approved all three manufacturers as acceptable voluntary alternates for the project.
The addendum includes pre-bid meeting minutes, RFI forms, and detailed product information for National Time and Signal fire alarm system components, including the 901 Series Fire Alarm Control Panel, 902-RPS Remote Power Supply, 540 Series Pull Stations, DigiComm Smoke Detectors, CXU Series Speaker/Strobes, and Control Input/Output Modules. No pricing information, set-asides, or funding sources are specified in this addendum document. The project is being managed by Fritz Wahlfield Construction (CM) and Kingscott as the design professional. A general dumpster will be provided by the CM. The project site is designated as an alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and weapons-free zone.

The 901 Fire Alarm Series combines modular design with ease of installation and field service-ability expected from a respected industry leader for over 100 years. Begin with National’s highly reliable state-of-the-art addressable system, and build a system to suit installations from small single story to large high rises. The 901 series can be a stand-alone single panel or network with any National Time FACP series to create a distributed system rivaled by no other.
Audio evacuation and paging options can be added allowing building occupants to feel safe and secure. Point annunciation options can range from bullet style LEDs, to graphic map an-nunciators, to National’s exclusive Interactive Graphic Display (IGD) allowing first responders to quickly access building status. A Color Graphic workstation can provide advanced control for building personnel. For off-site access to information, there is no equal to On-PointTM Central that can provide live system status complete with building maps, text and e-mail messaging and more through an internet connection.
The 901 Series FACP innovative chassis design concept eases installation effort and provides clear access to all field connections. Multiple box and trim combinations create an attractive and versatile installation.

The NATIONAL TIME A902-RPS Series Remote Power Supply is designed to meet the needs of your increasing power requirements. The 902-RPS provides two styles, Y or Z conventional Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) rated for a total of 5 Amps. The 24 VDC (0.5 Amp) auxiliary power output provide for system application flexibility.
The A902-RPS Series version, in addition, provides two input control circuits to direct the activation of the two NAC output circuits. The two input control circuits are activated by a 24VDC reverse polarity or dry contact. The 902-RPS trouble relay provides polarized or dry (form C) contact outputs. The 902-RPS (with standard firmware) provides three available evacuation rates selectable on a per circuit basis:
continuous, march time and temporal.
The A902-RPS-SG Series version provides all the features of the standard 902-RPS and is capable of synchronized horn (temporal) and strobe operation directly from the power supply without the need of a synchronization module. This provides horn (temporal) and strobe synchronization with independent control (alarm silence capability) on the same pair of wires.

NATIONAL TIME 540 Series Fire Alarm Pull Stations are high quality, die-cast metal devices available in either single or dual-action configurations with SPST or DPST switches. They include either wire lead or terminal strip connections. The normally open contact, which closes when the pull station is activated, is rated for 1 amp, at 125 VAC, or 30 VDC. The contacts are gold-plated to avoid risk of corrosion. All models in the series have been tested by UL for compliance to the latest requirements of the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA).
The 540 Series is operated by simply pulling the handle on the front of the station as far down as it will go. The handle locks into place indicating its activated status. The station is restored to normal with the use of a key. Standard models are provided with identically keyed locks and come with one key and one scored acrylic break-rod. On the 540D and
542D dual action models, the Push bar rotates inward allowing the Pull handle to be grasped in a one-handed motion.

The NATIONAL TIME Addressable Analog Photo-electric detector maintains consistent alarm detection over changing ambient conditions. In collaboration with the FACP, its intelligent self-adjusting drift compensation algorithm provides true alarm threshold levels above the detector’s ambient levels. The robust DigiCommTM communication protocol provides reliable and accurate information to be exchanged between the detector and the Fire Alarm Control Panel. This two-wire loop circuit carries both data and 17-28VDC supply. The detector’s address is set in its base providing a convenient and trouble free maintenance procedure. The detectors mount to a selection of base styles to accommodate installation requirements. Bases include 4” and 6” versions with optional sounder. The detectors are UL268 7th edition approved.

The NATIONAL TIME addressable module family includes initiating input circuit modules and relay output modules. The Control I/O module combines the initiating input and the relay output on a single module. Single and a double input modules are available simplifying installation layouts. The inputs provide a Class A or B supervision to monitor dry contact initiating devices. The relay output provides a form “C” dry contact rated for 4 Amps. The DigiCommTM communication allows Class A, B or X wiring supervision and devices have a built-in isolator. The robust DigiCommTM communication protocol enables reliable and accurate information to be exchanged between modules and the Fire Alarm Control Panel.
Large terminals make field wiring easier. Switch settings can be viewed and changed without removing the device from the electrical box and are covered with a decorative face plate. All modules mount in a 4” square or 2 gang electrical box.
