About this file
This document is an Amendment (No. 1) to Solicitation 36C78625B0023 for the Miramar National Cemetery Reclaimed Water Isolation Valve Replacement project. The amendment addresses multiple Request for Information (RFI) items, providing detailed specifications for isolation gate valves, including requirements for ductile iron body, epoxy coating, valve rating, and acceptable manufacturers like Leemco LMV-88BB Series. Key project details include a site walk-through on May 28, 2025, at 9:00 AM, with potential bidders from various construction and engineering firms in attendance, and a bid due date of June 23 at 1:00 PM Eastern time.
The amendment clarifies critical project parameters, such as pipe burial depth of 3 feet, water source (reclaimed water from the City of San Diego), and operational constraints. Weekend work is generally not authorized except under extraordinary circumstances requiring a cemetery employee on-site. The project involves replacing inoperable irrigation system isolation valves, with the main shutoff valve located at the pump house. The solicitation is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration, and bidders are expected to coordinate scheduling and details with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
