RFI’S AND RESPONSES:

Solicitation # 36C78622B0014

1. IFB has conflicting completion times. One section says "60 calendar day from NTP" and another "120 calendar days from NTP. Can the VA please clarify the duration of the project and expectations of completion?

a.) The correct period of performance is 120 calendar days from NTP. This has been updated in the revised SOW attached (IFB SOW 901CM3044 (R2)).

2. The IFB states the part number for the sprinkler block as Christy Type A "M305BA". No such part number is available from Christy. Is the part actually "M30SBA"? Please confirm.

a.) The 5 is a typo. The correct number is “M30SBA”. This typo has been corrected in the revised SOW attached.

3. For the Rain Bird sprinkler rotors 8005 and 6504, are they to have the stainless steel option for the risers or the standard plastic riser?

a.) The standard plastic riser

4. For the Rain Bird sprinkler rotors 8005 and 6504, are they to be installed with the non-potable purple cover to denote recycled water?

a.) No purple cover

5. Specification section 32 84 00 PLANTING IRRIGATION states:

3.3 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

A. Field Tests:

1. Test irrigation system per procedures listed in section 1.10

2. Notify the COR three days in advance of testing.

The section 1.10 referenced for testing procedures is not found within the supplied specifications. Can the VA please provide the procedures as listed in the referenced section?

a.) Field tests for section 1.10 do not apply.

6. I have called Old Castle about the Sprinkler Head Blocks and here is what their time line is for being able to supply the blocks. If you order all 2435 Type A sprinkler blocks at once for immediate release (full truckloads, as they become available) we could sell them for $XXX.XX each and this would include delivery to the Riverside National Cemetery, provided there is a forklift present to unload. The price would be good through November 2022. Estimated time for completion of all 2435 blocks if ordered as of today, July 9th, 2022, is 40 weeks. The manufacturer is currently backlogged 17 weeks and to produce your order would take 23 weeks.

It's possible this lead time could be improved. My questions is, if awarded the contract, could we replace the heads/risers first then come back and install the blocks? Or are you looking for all the work to be done in one Mobilization.

a.) Install the heads/risers and blocks at the same time with one Mobilization
