Flora Taylor Contracting Officer Amendment-0003 – Solicitation 36C78621B00008 Eagle Point Cemetery Expansion -Eagle Point National Cemetery Project NO# 906-016 Contractor Questions & GOV Responses
Question: 1 - Vendor Portal & Column Drawing Question There are three Interior Piers between EXIST grid line and grid line C. Please provide footing / reinforcing detail, and pier / reinforcing detail on Drawing SS101.
Response: Detail 4/SS101 provides dimensions for the footing at the pier. No additional reinforcing required – continue typical footing reinforcing of detail 1/SS502 through this area. For the “pier” portion, it will look similar to column detail 6/SS501 but with only (3) #5 verts (no ties needed). Please find the attached drawing for the required reinforcing for the three interior piers.
Question: 2 - Columbarium Cap It appears that the columbarium cap called out in the specs is different then the existing caps on site. Please clarify what the intended cap quarry/material/color that is to be used.
Response: The intent is to match the existing columbarium caps grade, classification, color, etc. Attached is Stone Cap Information/Testing Information from the supplier who supplied the stone caps for phase 1. Color Indiana Full Color Blend
Question: 3 - Stone Veneer The stone Veneer quarry (Gordon Stone Company) is not currently offering the thin veneer at this time. Since this product is not offered at this time what it to be used in it's place?
Response: The intent for this wall is use the same stone (Oklahoma Sandstone Quartz) and to be thin veneer. The contractor shall provide the means to generate the thin veneer as shown on the drawings and specifications.
Question: 4 - Grading Plan According to the plans there appears to be an average fill of 6’ to expand the slope from the existing contours. The fill appears to range from 1’ up to 7’. Per the explanation during the first walk through in mid July. It was perceived that the top of the existing grave site elevation would carry out to the end of the grading limits and abruptly slope down holding a 2:1 slope. Also while onsite and observing the existing topography and comparing it to the new grading plan on CS102 they do not appear to correlate with each other. Can you please confirm that the existing elevations and the proposed new contours are accurate. Also what direction are we going to go with? A) Carry out the top of slope and slope down holding the minimum 2:1 per the conversation during the walk through? B) build per plan matching new contours. Option A would carry a Fill amount four times more than option B.
Response: The existing conditions survey was completed pre-design and is believed to be accurate. Please follow the proposed contours elevations per sheet CS102.
