SCOPE OF WORK
MODIFICATIONS TO IRRIGATION SYSTEM
PUERTO RICO NATIONAL CEMETERY
Bayamon, Puerto Rico
PROJECT XXXXXXXXX
A. SCOPE OF WORK.
Puerto Rico National Cemetery is located in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. The existing irrigation system is insufficient to meet the needs of the cemetery. This project is intended to install a well system sufficient to provide each of the seven water reels the capacity to distribute 143 gpm @ 150 psi. The resulting well water can contain no elements (or can contain the presence of elements at negligible concentrations) that will lead to the staining of the headstones and concrete features throughout the cemetery (i.e. – iron and magnesium).
1. Contractor shall completely prepare site for construction operations, furnish all labor and materials, and perform all work as required by this scope of work and the attached specifications, including:
• the drilling of test well and providing test results;
• Confirming the installation of four (4) 7.5 H.P. submersible pumps complete with all wiring, piping, controllers, VFDs, and the manifold and controls to tie the new wells into the existing irrigation system (the size and number of submersible pumps has been provided for estimating purposes only; the actual design will be dependent on the yield of the aquifer, which is to be determined with this project);
• Providing and installing pump control equipment;
• Supplying and installing all enclosures for the new wells, which shall be vaults at grade (or recommend an alternative);
• the restoration of the site.
2. After test well is complete, Contractor shall submit samples from each well to a lab to determine levels of iron and magnesium and to determine the pH.
3. Goal of this project is to provide a pumping system sufficient to provide 8,000 – 10,000 GPD with iron and magnesium at levels that preclude staining on headstones and allows multiple water reels to work in a satisfactory manner throughout the cemetery simultaneously.
4. PROJECT DURATION: 90 Calendar Days from Notice to Proceed.
5. This project will be located as indicated on the attached site plan or Contractor shall recommend alternative.
