STATEMENT OF WORK

RELINE MAIN IRRIGATION WELL AND REPLACE PUMP

Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038

A. The Contractor: Shall furnish all labor, material, equipment, and supervision necessary to reline and refurbish the main irrigation well and replace the line-set vertical turbine pump with a submersible pump and motor at Houston National Cemetery in accordance with drawings, specifications, and per applicable standards and requirements.

B. System Description and Background:

1. The main irrigation well had a design capacity of 850 gallons per minute (gpm) at 710 feet of total dynamic head (TDH). The original pump setting depth was 480 feet. The 12-stage vertical turbine pump was replaced in 2019.

2. After installing and running the pump in 2019, it started pumping sand. The pump was immediately removed, and a well survey completed. The survey determined that the well casing was starting to irrevocably deteriorate with holes in the blank sections; very large holes at 870 and 880 feet, respectively; and probable significant damage below 911 feet because of observed fill up to that point. (The original total depth of the well was 1056 feet).

C. The Work: Shall include, but shall not be limited to the following (not necessarily in the order indicated):

1. The Contractor shall selectively disassemble and remove the original 200 HP motor, motor frame, and flanged 10x12-inch reducer fitting. Transport all removed materials to the Cemetery Maintenance Storage Building (near Veterans Memorial Hwy) and hand over possession to the COR.

2. Perform an initial video and camera survey to verify existing conditions: Verify the locations of the damaged blank and screened sections of casing down to the well bottom or infill depth (previous report provided in Attachment B); verify the static water depth.

Provide two copies of the DVD with video and pictures: one to the COR and one to the

District Engineer in Denver, CO.

3. Install 64-inch 304 stainless steel well liner comprised of pipe-based screen threaded sections with a total intake area of about 1,2331,254 square inches that will limit the entrance velocity to 0.1 feet/sec (for example, a maximum of 46 66 feet of Johnson

Screens 4-inch Pipe Based screen with a screen slot size of 10 thousandths of an inch providing an intake area of 27 19 in2/ft); assembled with solid casing threaded or welded sections (such as provided by Johnson Screens or approved equal) so that the new screened sections are aligned within zones of existing screens. Install threaded or welded

IPS solid bottom plug at the bottom. and 6”x8” neoprene K packer to seal Fill the annular space at the top of between the liner and old screen with gravel pack.

4. After installing the liner, recondition the well and aquifer using controlled shape charge blasting such as the SONAR-JET® system (slower burn rate detonating cord) to increase the capacity of the well as close to its original condition as possible.

5.4. Perform a second video survey to verify the condition of the new well liner after rehabilitation. Verify the new static water depth. Provide two copies of the DVD with video and pictures: one to the COR and one to the District Engineer in Denver, CO.

6.5. Install new submersible pump and motor with the following performance characteristics:

a. Pump: Grundfos® 8-inch submersible, model 385S750-10, 10-stage, 4-inch discharge

b. Motor: Grundfos® 8-inch, model MMS 8000, 75 HP, 3-phase, 60

Hz, 460 Volts, Inverter Duty

c. Max Speed: 3600 RPM (3500 RPM)

d. Design Flow: 384 GPM @ 631 TDH

e. Pump Des. Eff.: 78%

f. Operating Press.: 90 psi

g. Static Water Level 361 ft (@ well development); 298 ft (most current)

h. Pumping Level: 421 ft

i. Pump Setting (top): 358 ft

j. Well Depth: 1056 ft (@ well development); 911 ft (most current)

k. Features: Stainless steel casing, sand handling design

7.6. Install 4-inch Sch. 40 black steel threaded riser/drop pipe (23 sections of threaded 21-inch long pipe) from pump to top of well head. Attach new flange plate to concrete well base in order to narrow the existing 14-inch opening and allow new drop pipe to be attached with welded flange. Install 4-inch long-sweep elbow, and flanged 4x12-inch concentric reducer fitting to attach to the existing 12-inch dresser fitting.

8.7. Install 500-feet of flat-jacketed submersible pump #2/3 (3-wire) cable with ground.

Connect to existing electric feeder conduits in existing disconnect switch pedestal panel.

9.8. Install 480 feet of new ¼-inch coated airline and water level gauge.

10.9. Connect, install, and set equipment including but not limited to:

a. Mechanical and electrical disconnection the pumps, motors, and tube and shaft assembly.

b. Hoisting/rigging for the installation of the pump, pump motor, and associated piping.

c. All labor, material, and equipment associated with testing the completed assembly and providing documented test results.
