Please confirm how the building is to be sealed at the bottom to the existing asphalt pad, which may or may not be uneven? Does not need to be sealed at the bottom.

The scope of work wasn’t clear on this project about the doors, roll up doors or could we use sectional doors? Roll up doors item 1.d. in SOW

Scope of work does not say where the doors will be located on the 40’ x 60’ metal building, want more clarification on exact location of all three doors? Both overhead doors are to be located on the same 60' wall. We visualize them being equally spaced on the wall with the inset from the left, the inset from the right, and the space between all being roughly equal, assuming that this is feasible and reasonable. Side door on the east end of the building.

What will be the color for the building? Color to be approved by the COR from the range of available options, item 1.c. in SOW

Assuming pier foundation w/ rat wall down slope, the asphalt has a slope for the steel building to be set on? There will need to be a footer or pier foundation which scope of work does say anything about this? Building column footings is per the SOW

Is it possible for a single slope roof, so that the slope could feed into the trough on the back side of the newly installed metal building? No

Has anyone from the facility or government agency done a soil boring test to check compaction to see if the grounds are suitable for the metal building to be set on? No

What type of roof, standing seam roof, or screw down roof? No preference

The unit will be sitting on the asphalt? Yes, along with the building column footings per the

SOW

Will there be insulation for this project? No

Clarification, spec is calling for 18’ Clear inside the building, so my exterior eave will account for the height they are requesting? Yes

Will there be a footer or pier foundation? Building column footings is per the SOW

Will there be any ruffing for plumbing, mechanical, or electric for this building? No

Will this building be heated or conditioned? No

Scope of work doesn’t state anything about a gutter system? Yes, gutters and downspouts are required.

The surface that the new building is to be installed on is an asphalt slab. How thick is the slab? Do not know

The area where the building is to be installed is not level, it has roughly a 20” fall from east to west, the building should be installed on a fairly level surface. The SOW did not call for any leveling of the site, only footings as required. Should there be provisions for leveling the site and water drainage included in the SOW? No

The doors are not specifically located in the SOW. Should the roll up doors be located on the North wall and what is the desired spacing? The man door was not specifically located either. Should it be located on the east end of the building? Both overhead doors are to be located on the same 60' north wall. We visualize them being equally spaced on the wall with the inset from the left, the inset from the right, and the space between all being roughly equal, assuming that this is feasible and reasonable. Side door on the east end of the building.

What is to happen to the existing opening in the fence that is used as a driveway currently?

Opening in fence to remain

The bid documents do not list any mechanical, electrical, or plumbing requirements, please confirm none are required. If MEP is required, please confirm the minimum requirements. No MEP.

Please confirm if there are any concrete pads required on this project? No concrete pad. The building will sit on the existing asphalt surface.

Are there any minimum R-value requirements for the wall and roof of the metal building? No minimum R-value requirements for the wall and roof.

Will the overhead doors require automatic openers or are they manually operated? Manually Operated

What are the keying requirements for the doors? Provide lockable door knob. Later, DNC will switch-out that lock to accommodate our existing keys.

Are the doors to be located on a specific wall? We currently plan to locate one overhead door centered in each gable end. Both overhead doors are to be located on the same 60' wall. We visualize them being equally spaced on the wall with the inset from the left, the inset from the right, and the space between all being roughly equal, assuming that this is feasable and reasonable.

Are gutters and downspouts required? Yes, gutters and downspouts are required.

Will there be anything suspended from the building structure such as heating units, electrical lights, ect.

If so, we will need to factor in a collateral/dead load for this. No. There will not be anything suspended from the building structure.

Will the building be considered unheated, above freezing (insulated but not heated), or heated? The building will be unheated / no insulation.
