About this file
This document provides details for a federal contract opportunity to construct an inpatient medicine bed addition at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. The contractor will be responsible for demolishing existing structures, constructing a third-floor addition and renovating other areas to create a continuous inpatient unit. Additional work includes installing two elevators and accommodating portable MRI machines during construction. The project scope includes general construction, alterations, asbestos and lead remediation, civil and site work, electrical and telecommunications systems, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems. The contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed-price contract following a request for proposal issued in mid-March 2024 with a period of performance of approximately 466 calendar days. The solicitation will be conducted as a tiered set-aside giving priority to SDVOSB, VOSB, small business with HUBZone/8A, and large business concerns.
