RFI #52, states that both types of existing roofing (BUR and sloped shingle) need to be replaced with TPO. There are a couple of issues with this RFI answer.

0. 1) The shingled roof system is sloped. It is highly unusual to provide a sloped roof with TPO roofing system. If this roof is to be replaced, it is highly recommended to be replaced in-kind with shingles. Please advise.

0. 2) If this roof is to be replaced in-kind with shingles or TPO (which is not advised), RFI #20 states to bid quantities provided in SOW. The SOW narrative states to replace 36,000-SF of existing roof. The BUR roof is 36,000-SF. Therefore, there is no quantity for the shingle roof. Also, there is no specification section for shingle roof system. Bidders would not know which shingle type, color, etc., to provide.

We believe RFI #52 answer was a mistake and that this project is only to include the BUR roof and not the shingle roof. Please confirm that only the BUR roof is to be replaced (36,000-SF TPO 60mil thick) and that the existing shingle roof is not part of this project.

Replace with in-kind
