Questions and Government Answer:

1. The amended Statement of Work references replacement of the 5 HP compressor and motor, replacement of the duplex 2 HP compressor and motors with duplex 3 HP units, replacement of the air receivers, and includes a separate CLIN for a 30 CFM air dryer. Can the Government please confirm whether the intent of the amended scope is for complete replacement of these systems with new equipment, or whether any existing compressor, motor, tank, or dryer components are intended to be reused, refurbished, or rebuilt as part of this project?

· Government Answer: Yes it is our intention to do a full system replacement except for the duplex 3 HP scroll compressor. For that system we are going to keep the dryer. To clarify, we are changing the type of compressor from piston to scroll. We will have 2 new systems, one is a 5 hp scroll compress and this one will include the dryer. The other system is a duplex 3 HP scroll compressor but this does NOT include replacing the dryer.

2. We are seeking clarification regarding Amendment 0001. The revised pricing schedule identifies CLIN 0001 as a "5 HP Air-Cooled Reciprocating Compressor & 80 Gallon Tank." However, Section A.2, Scope of Work, Item 4 states, "Replace 5 hp compressor and motor with 5 hp scroll compressor and motor." Could you please clarify which compressor type the Government requires for CLIN 0001, as the pricing schedule and scope of work appear to reference different equipment?

· Government Answer: The specifications and Line items have been updated to clarify the requirements.

3. What are the make, model, and serial numbers of the existing that are being replaced?

· Government Answer: Photos are below.

4. What are the make, model, and serial numbers of the existing motors associated with air compressors?

· Government Answer: Photos are below.

5. What is the electrical?

· Government Answer: 460V Three Phase (460/3)

6. What is the required disposition of the existing compressor equipment being removed?

· Government Answer: This is government property and will be deposed of by the government. It needs to be moved to a different location with the VA Facility by the contractor.
