The document is a Q&A file for a VA furniture procurement solicitation (Solicitation Number: 36C26326Q0239) for the Iowa City VA Health Care System. The solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside for furniture installation, with a NAICS code of 337127 and a size standard of 500 employees. Key installation details include delivering and installing furniture on the 9th floor of a facility, using a shared freight elevator, with construction scheduled for completion in July 2026.

Specific solicitation details include a firm fixed-price contract award, quotes due by 10:00am CST on 2/06/2026, and technical questions accepted until 10:00am CST on 1/22/2026. Vendors must be registered in SAM and will need to check-in and be approved for on-site work. The Q&A addressed specific logistical questions about furniture installation, confirming a loading dock is available, no furniture removal is required, and weighted (vs. bolted) furniture securing is preferred. The contracting specialist is Mark Clayburne, and quotes should be emailed to mark.clayburne@va.gov.

Questions

1. It appears that perhaps this is a new build but if not, is there any furniture that needs to be removed? Nothing needs to be removed.

2. The SOW states that the furniture can be weighted or bolted down. Is there a preference for which way they would like the furniture secured? Bolting down, of course, has to be very precise and is immovable once done and the price is higher. Weighted is preferred.

3. What is the access to the building, specifically:

· Is there a loading dock at the building where the furniture is to be installed? Yes

4. If not, where would we unload, and do we need a lift gate? Lift gate not needed as there is a dock. However, the vendor will need to unload and deliver product to the 9th floor.

5. How far from that location to the building? All inside, about 390 feet from dock to freight elevator.

6. Is there a freight elevator or will we have to use a different type of elevator? Shared or exclusive use? Freight elevator, shared use with facilities.

· Is there any sort of staging area available? No

· Does personnel need to be escorted at all times? Vendor/Visitors need to check-in and be approved for the day they are present.

· Will the space be occupied by patients when we install? No

7. Do you know when the start date is for this project? Construction is underway and scheduled to be complete in July 2026. Furniture can be installed at that time.
