Clarification 1: See original Solicitation Attachment, D.1 SOW FINAL v3. Specifically see Paragraph 4. Other, 4.1 Working Days/hours.

Original Wording: Working Days/Hours. No work shall be done on Federal Holidays. All work shall be done during normal VA working hours (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Mountain Time, Monday through Friday) with the exception of the asbestos abatement in the lobby basement of Building 1. This work shall be done after normal working hours (after 4:30 PM MT), and/or on weekends, and will be coordinated in advance with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). All work must be done in a manner that minimizes disruption to staff and patients in areas adjacent to construction areas.

Changed to Read: Working Days/Hours. No work shall be done on Federal Holidays. All ASBESTOS ABATEMENT work shall be completed OUTSIDE of VA normal working hours (e.g., after 4:30 PM MT to before 8:00 AM MT or “overnight”). RE-INSULATION OF STEAM AND CONDENSATE PIPING shall be completed DURING VA normal working hours (e.g., 8:00 AM MT to 4:30 PM MT or “days”). Either type of work can be completed on weekends if coordinated in advance with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). All work must be done in a manner that minimizes disruption to staff and patients in areas adjacent to construction areas.

Question 1: Using glove bags…will steam line be off?

Government’s Answer: Steam will be off.

Questions 2: Is existing piping copper or iron?

Government’s Answer: Iron

Questions 3: Because of existing pipes with Asbestos on them, Per Spec Insulation will not fit due to clearance.

Government’s Answer: (If question is understood) After the asbestos is removed insulation should fit.

Questions 4: Is there going to be close parking to the buildings to get the materials unloaded and loaded?

Government’s Answer: Yes, parking is close by each building.

Questions 5: Will we able to use Government trash dumpsters for the non-contaminated trash, boxes, etc.?

Government’s Answer: No, government dumpsters are not available for contractor use.
