About this file

This document is a product specification sheet for the PACScube Express Catalyst II 6000N, a DICOM-compatible CD burner system designed for the Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system.

The PACScube Express Catalyst II 6000N is a medical imaging transport solution that enables VA facilities to send and receive patient information to external healthcare facilities. The system must be DICOM compatible, capable of encrypting and decrypting CDs, and compatible with existing VA PACS systems. The equipment consists of three components: a transporter unit (81 lbs maximum, 25"x16"x23"), a workstation (3 lbs, 8"x7"x2", mounted behind monitor), and a monitor (9 lbs, 14"x14"x3"). The system takes DICOM images and results and records them seamlessly onto discs with unique labels containing patient and study demographics, facility logo, and audit trail identifiers. It includes an embedded lite DICOM viewing tool enabling image and report viewing from any computer. The primary purpose is to facilitate patient transfers outside the VA for procedures, specialized care, or equipment-related needs not available within VA facilities, thereby preventing unnecessary duplicate imaging and radiation exposure. Requests can be submitted from any computer across the enterprise, with the system capable of processing multiple jobs simultaneously.
