36C26220Q1133 Amendment A00002

Vendor Question pertaining to Combined Synopsis/Solicitation 36C26220Q1133:

Question1: As the VTM’s will be air freighted directly from the factory, is one delivery of 25,000 pcs per week delivered to a central warehouse or do they have to be delivered to each individual hospital?

Answer1: Interested Offerors shall ship to the six (6) warehouse locations identified in paragraph 8 of the solicitation. Offerors shall follow the weekly delivery schedule defined in the table in paragraph 8 of the solicitation.

Question 2: Would 2ml of phenol red VTM be acceptable versus 3ml of VTM that is requested?

Answer 2: 3ml of phenol red VTM is required per salient characteristics Amendment A00001 to the solicitation. 3ml

Question 3: I see there is a requirement to have serum bovine albumin in the VTM formulation. Most seem to not want that, and the CDC recommended formulation does not include it. Is this correct and is it a necessity for solicitation?

Answer 3: The Government has amended Attachment B, Salient Characteristics, Ingredients (iv):

From: Must contain Bovine Serum Albumin

To: Serum optional for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing purposes.

Question 4: Just a quick question regarding Bovine Serum Albumin. Our laboratory manager and chemists are saying that this serum is insignificant in terms of the actual sample and collection. Why is this Serum required?

Answer 4: The Government has amended Attachment B, Salient Characteristics, Ingredients (iv):

From: Must contain Bovine Serum Albumin

To: Serum optional for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing purposes.

Question 5: On the document, it states “250 SWAB KITS PER CASE” – our kits are shipped box 100. Is this ok?

Answer 5: Each delivery location identified in paragraph 8 of the solicitation requires 5,000 VTM Swab Kits per week as detailed in the table in paragraph 8. Interested offerors may box kits as needed to fulfill this delivery requirement without deviation.
