About this file

This document is a clarification on Utility Water Testing requirements within a Statement of Work. The document details sampling and testing frequencies for utility water across multiple buildings (Mather Building 650, Mather Building 645, Martinez Building 19, and Redding CBOC), with different testing periodicities for various point-of-use (POU) fixtures and monitoring points. While most utility water sources are tested quarterly, AER (Automated Endoscope Reprocessor) water sources require monthly testing, which was the source of initial confusion in the original document.

The testing follows the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) ST108 (2023) standard, and specifically notes that endotoxin sampling of utility water is not necessary. The testing locations include first encountered sinks, AER fixtures, GI utility rooms, and pre-treatment monitoring points, with each location assigned a specific testing frequency (either monthly or quarterly) based on its function and criticality. The clarification emphasizes that AER water sources, while technically utility water, demand more frequent testing to ensure water quality and safety.

Response:

For Clarification, the confusion lies in the fact that the water designated for service of the AERs is technically utility water, but we are requiring it to be tested monthly. Therefore, the updated designations in the verbiage below apply:
