About this file

This document contains Request for Information (RFI) Responses for a VA project to replace the leak detection system in the PAD B100 Chiller Room at a Veterans Health Administration facility. The RFI addresses 19 key questions from potential contractors, with VA responses clarifying project details. Key project specifications include demolishing the existing leak detection system and installing a new system, with three horns and three pull stations located at exit doors and in the space. The Period of Performance is 72 days from the Notice to Proceed, which includes on-site work, system demolition, and lead time for equipment procurement.

Notable clarifications include: the VA expects no hazardous materials will be encountered, the Site Superintendent can serve as both CQC and SSHO, weekend work is optional, no as-built drawings will be provided, and the VA will not supply equipment cut sheets or specifications. The project involves installing a Chill Gard 5000 system with potential unit-mounted strobe, and a floor plan for the ECC Room will be available. The VA will require a walk-through with an electrician upon contract award to determine lockout panel location, and specifications are uploaded in the RFP with only one specification submitted at this time.
