About this file

This document includes responses to questions regarding a solicitation for replacing xeriscaping at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center campus in San Francisco, California. The solicitation seeks a contractor to remove existing synthetic turf and playground surfaces in seven designated areas that have reached the end of their useful life, and replace them with new xeriscaping materials. The contractor must dispose of the existing surfaces and install new synthetic turf that is rated for heavy traffic and has a minimum eight-year warranty in areas 1 through 6. A different surface rated to meet playground safety standards with a five-year warranty is required for area 7. The contractor will be responsible for trimming shrubs and temporarily removing picnic tables and playground equipment during installation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to issue this request for proposal as a total small business set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The estimated value of the construction is between $250,000 and $500,000.
