2. DRAWINGS

3. OFFEROR QUESTION AND CLARIFICATION
a. Question: Submitting/Proposing a Start/Stop, Status and Alarm, therefore there is no need to order the chiller with a Modbus communication card. If the customer wants integration to the unit, then this will be an additional cost. Please confirm if we are to keep the controls as is or upgrade to an integration?
b. Response: The SOW states: Vendor capability to program new equipment electronics to communicate with currently installed facility electronics. Also, the SOW states (1.7 K.): Per Divisions 23 64 00 the Contractor shall install a new Air Cooled Water Chiller and all associated connectors. 1. The Contractor shall be responsible for all electrical connections or modifications for the installation of equipment.
It is standard for most commercial HVAC equipment to come furnished as BACnet and Modbus capable, allowing the equipment to be connected to any brand of building management system. Therefore, the Air Cooled Water Chillers submittals needs to show BACnet and Modbus capable, otherwise it might not connect to the building management system.
