GC shall include special inspection

Proposal RFI # –

Proposal RFI # -

Proposal RFI #4 – The telecom drawings seem to contradict each other. For example, on drawing

EDS-100, Demolition Key Note #3 tells us “Existing Voice/Data Outlets shall be removed and replaced with new system” Then on drawing ES-100, Keynote #3 tells us “All devices with “E” subscript are existing and shall remain protected during construction”. This note refers to the same locations the previous demo page told us to remove. So, one spot on the drawing tells us to remove everything, then another spot on the drawing tells us to save some locations.

Also, some of the locations shown on the installation plans are marked as “E” (existing), however on the demo plans which is supposed to show the existing conditions, that location is not shown as existing at all Can we get better clarification on what we are doing for every note? These issues are consistent throughout this scopes drawings.

Proposal RFI # – All the existing voice/data outlets, Fire Alarm devices in Room #’s 011, 012, 013, 014 & 015 shown on Sheet ES-100 with “E” subscript are to remain. The devices in the hatched area on both the sheets EDS-100 & ES-100 are to remain as the hatched area is not in

Scope of Work.

Proposal RFI #5 – Sheet Note #6 on EL-100 indicates to replace existing fixtures in mechanical room 9B, however the fixture type is not shown. Please advise if these fixtures are to be replaced and if so, provide the fixture type.

Proposal RFI # – The fixtures in Room #9B are to be replaced with fixture Type “C” and one (1) fixture by the exit from Room #9B will be of Type “C1”.

Date of Proposal Inquiry: __08/22/19________________________________________

Proposal RFI #6 – Please provide the deck height at the metal stud walls that are from floor to deck.

Response: As-Built Drawing are not available. For bidding purpose use 15 feet as deck to deck height.

Date of Proposal Inquiry: __08/23/19________________________________________

Proposal RFI #7 – Several areas in the specs, section 09 06 00 Schedule for Finishes is referenced but this spec section was not provided. Please provide.

Response: Specification includes SECTION 09 06 00, SCHEDULE FOR FINISHES, It is also attached to this response.

Date of Proposal Inquiry: __08/23/19________________________________________

Proposal RFI #8 – The phasing states that the building is being split into East and West. Please advise where these splits will be as it is not shown on the plans.

Response: See Drawing Number GI103 regarding phasing information.

Date of Proposal Inquiry: __08/29/19________________________________________

Proposal RFI #9 – In regard to the window shades, the window schedule on sheet A601 shows only two interior windows types at the basement level and details 12 on AE501 and 11 on

AE503 provide two different mounting details. We are assuming that detail 11 on AE503 is for the interior basement shades while detail 12 on AE501 suggests an install at the referenced exterior windows. There are no window designations for the exterior windows on floors 1 and 2.

Sheet AE401 note 23 says there is to be shades at all exterior windows. In addition, please provide the heights on the exterior windows? There is no elevation (except for the breakroom) that provides the window height.

Response:

There are primarily 2 types of exterior window (see plans for location and quantity)

- 11’-0 Wide x 6’-0” High

- 7’-2” wide x 6’-0” High

At the main entrance: There are 2 types of exterior window

- 15’-0 Wide x 12’-0” High (2 story area)

- 6’-0” wide x 8’-0” High (both sides of the entrance door)

Date of Proposal Inquiry: __08/30/19________________________________________

Proposal RFI #10 - The electrical drawings show a (N) fire alarm devices and a Securitron fire alarm panel and annunciator panel; our fire alarm subs have informed us that this fire alarm system is only offered in the UK. Is the owner providing the Fire Alarm panels and devices?

Proposal RFI # – Securitron Fire Alarm panel was VA’s preference. Replace existing Silent

Knight Fire Alarm panel and the annunciator with new Fire Alarm Panel along with the annunciator or any approved equal system. The existing initiating devices for the system have to be replaced with the new system being provided.

Date of Proposal Inquiry: __08/30/19________________________________________

Proposal RFI #11 – There are some discrepancies between the plans and specs in regard to the plumbing fixtures. The fixtures called out in the specs are mostly manual and cheaper. The plan schedule is asking for more expensive sensor type fixtures and some are not Buy America.

Please advise.

Proposal RFI # – Follow the Plumbing Fixture specified in the plans and all fixtures should be

“Buy America”
