About this file

This file contains an RFI response and site visit roster for a VA storm sewer system upgrade project at the Boise VAMC. The RFI (#1) concerns the installation of StormTech 4500 Chambers and questions whether the VA would consider expanding the limits of disturbance to avoid costly shoring requirements that would exceed the $500,000 budget limit. The VA's response simply states that all work must be accomplished according to the drawings and specifications.

The associated site visit roster shows this is for Solicitation 36C26025R0035, Project Number 531-24-108, with key dates including: Site Visit on 01/30/2025 at 9:00 AM MT, RFI Due on 02/06/2025, and Proposals Due on 02/24/2025. The contracting team includes Stephen Slaby (CO), Alan Perez (CS), and Jon Wagner (COR), with multiple contractors in attendance including representatives from Cutting Edge Construction, Global Engineering, Winspear Construction, Hance Construction, HD Inc., and Shamrock Construction.

Text version

RFI #1

We have been evaluating the feasibility of installing the StormTech 4500 Chambers within the project's limits of disturbance. To maintain these limits, shoring will be necessary for safe installation, as benching the excavation will not be possible. If shoring is required, (our company) believes this will increase the project cost beyond the $500,000 budget limit. Would the VA consider expanding the limits of disturbance to allow for safe excavation practices and possibly remain within the given budget?

All work must be accomplished in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
