About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) containing questions and answers for a Department of Veterans Affairs asphalt maintenance and repair project at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center. The project involves approximately 70,000 square feet of asphalt replacement, including parking lot resurfacing, striping (approximately 105 stalls, 2 crosswalks, 4 cross-hatched stalls), and island infill. Key technical specifications include using WYDOT standard specifications, 4-inch asphalt depth (2-inch base layer, 2-inch wear layer), 30% recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) allowed, and a minimum 6-inch compacted grade.

The solicitation (36C25924R0135) requires a contractor to complete the work within 60 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with work restricted to Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Contractors must provide a quality control plan, work sequencing plan, and comply with safety requirements, including having personnel with OSHA 10-hour construction safety training. The project involves removing and replacing an existing island, including sidewalk, tree, electrical components, and irrigation infrastructure, with strict requirements for site restoration, debris removal, and minimal disruption to VA Medical Center operations. A general contractor license is sufficient for bidding, and out-of-state companies can submit proposals.
