Replace H2 Wood doors

Q&A No 1: Please confirm the project superintendent may also serve as the SSHO and the QC System Manager.

Answer No.1: Yes, as long as the project superintendent is qualified and possess the 30-hour OSHA Cert.

Reference the Statement of Work (SOW) Section 4.0 General, Section 5.0 Project Management, Section

9.0 Submittals, and Section 18.0 Personnel Qualifications.

Q&A No 2: Please confirm the project superintendent must be an employee of the Prime Contractor.

Answer No.2: Yes, the superintendent shall be an employee of the Prime Contractor.

Q&A No 3: Solicitation scope requires powder coated finish. The heat from the powdercoat oven process typically voids warranty of hollow metal doors. Please advise if Benjamin Moore DTM paint is acceptable.

Answer No. 3: Acceptable. Please submit under submittals.

Q&A No 4: How many doors will the contractor be allowed to replace concurrently in the Mental Health area?

Answer No.4: No limit. All doors must be in place and operational by end of shift – no leaving doors off overnight.

Q&A No 5: How many doors will the contractor be allowed to replace concurrently in the Emergency area?

Q&A No. 6: Will the contractor be allowed to work in both the mental health and emergency areas concurrently?

Answer No. 6: Yes.

Q&A No.7: Please confirm testing of the reinstalled anti-ligature alarms will be allowed during normal work hours.

Q&A No.8: Door 03-01-A7-03-B is highlighted for replacement, however 03-01-A7-03-A in the same room is not. Please confirm.

Answer No.8: Replace only door 03-01-A7-03-B.

Q&A No.9: Door 03-01-A7-03-B is listed in the drawings as just over 24” wide, however in the field we observed the door to be 36” nominally. Please confirm.

Answer No.9: 36” confirmed.

Q&A No.10: Please provide the “existing wood door submittal” documents for the following doors:

a. 03 01-A7-03

b. 03 01-A8-02

c. 03 01-A8-04

d. 03 01-A8-06

Answer No.10: Not readily available – doors are same submittal as those in Mental Health.

Q&A No.11: Please provide the as-built hardware sets for the doors affected. Per the “combined drawings” document and the “existing wood door submittal” document, we interpret the needed hardware sets as follows:

a. HW-MH-01A per drawings/4-213 per submittal

b. HW-MH-04D per drawings/4-210 per submittal

c. HW-MH-03F per drawings/4-211 per submittal

d. 3-121 per drawings (no submittal given)

e. 3-126 per drawings (no submittal given)

Answer No.11: Please reference the two pdfs for Mental Health Door hardware posted along with this Q&A.

Q&A No. 12: Please confirm doors are to be:

i. Vertically steel stiffened cores.

ii. 16 g. vertical steel stiffeners.

iii. Welded and filled flush 16g. top and bottom cap on both the door and the wicket door.

iv. Welded and filled seamless edges on both the door and wicket door.

v. 16 g. primed cold rolled steel door faces.

Answer No.12: Confirmed. Notify COR if change is necessary.

Q&A No.13: Door Hardware spec 08 71 00 was included in the spec book. The spec section only references thresholds, however we do not find new thresholds required in the scope of work. Please confirm new thresholds are not part of this contract.

Answer No.13: Thresholds not required.

Q&A No.14: Please confirm that the language in section 1.2 “General Intention” speaking of concreate shower floors is a typo/incorrect.

Answer No. 14: Yes, this is a typo which has been corrected by the COR, an updated combined specs doc will be posted with the same amendment posting this questions and answers form.
