Amendment #2 Vendor’s questions in “black” and VA’s answers in “red”.

1. “If the government will only allow for 2 machines to be out of service at a time, and those machines will be pulled by your staff and brought to a central location for servicing, how long does the government plan on taking to bring the next 2 units needing serviced? I.E. After the 2 machines are completed, the next 2 will arrive for service within 1 hr.” Usually the VA will have more than two ice machines ready to be cleaned at any time, therefore contractor wait time would be none or very minimal. If for some reason (maybe due to high Engineering staff workload) we have to go get the next machine to be cleaned, the average wait time would be less than 30 minutes. Good communication between the contractor and the VA Engineering staff will mitigate wait time.

1. “As a follow on to that question. It is extremely difficult to gauge the labor hours required to perform the requested work as much/most of the time will 100% depend on the government bringing and coordinating the machines. We know how long it takes to service the machine, but how long in days or hours does the government expect this work to take place for the 61 units due to the equipment travel time to our technician?” As stated above wait time will be mitigated with good communication between the contractor and the VA Engineering staff. The VA’s expectations are that the contractor can work on two machines at a time. As one is about to be completed by the contractor, the COR (or designated representative) will be notified in order for VA Engineering staff to bring the next one to be worked.
