Install Communications Infrastructure for Bldg. 38 Contractor questions and answers

1. There seems to be conflicting information between the Statement of Work and the site visit information. Can the government please clarify what CenturyLink is boring and what the contractor is responsible for boring?

Reference attached drawing CenturyLink Boring Plan for Clermont, and e-mail from Travis Young at CenturyLink. CenturyLink will bore under the street along the demarcation noted. Contractor to provide arrangements for tie-in according to the SOW at the site marked with an X on the plans. For more information, contact Travis Young at CenturyLink, 303-309-8951.

2. It was mentioned that a HEPA cart would be required for the conduit run from the communications room to the exit for Building 8. It was also mentioned that the government has a HEPA cart that the contractor can use. Can the government please clarify both items?

All buildings including Building 8 and 38 are subject to VA Infection Control policies, including preparation of an Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) prior to starting work. Building 8 is not a patient building so ICRA measures will be low, however contractor shall be mindful of dust control in their work. Building 38 is an occupied inpatient unit so measures will be increased to protect patients.

Contractors shall also be mindful that Building 38 houses PTSD patients and be respectful of their needs and staff needs while conducting their work.

Contractor shall also be mindful of measures concerning the novel coronavirus that may affect their work and staffing.

Reference attached blank ICRA for a sample of measures that may be required depending on location and intensity of work. Contractor shall discuss Infection Control measures with Infection Control Nurse before beginning work.

Assume for bidding purposes that contractor shall provide their own Infection Control supplies including HEPA cart.

3. Please provide the interior building drawing for Building 38.

Reference attached drawing Bldg 38 Floor Plan. Reminder that VA cannot vouch for accuracy of all drawings and contractor is to field verify all conditions prior to starting work.

4. Please provide detail for above drop ceiling in Building 38.

Reference attached drawings Original Architectural, Original Plumbing, and Original HVAC. Reminder that VA cannot vouch for accuracy of all drawings and contractor is to field verify all conditions prior to starting work.

5. Is there any hazardous material in Building 38 above the drop ceiling?

VA has examined the space and knows of no such hazardous material at this time. Contractor to field verify all conditions prior to starting work. If contractor encounters any suspected hazardous materials during the course of work contractor shall stop work immediately and notify COR and CO.

Note: Please be aware Denver Water recommends a 7 foot clear space between any new line and any of their underground utilities. Utility locates are in the SOW for the contractor to perform, specification show going down 2 feet.
