This document contains a request for information and clarification regarding a federal contract opportunity for remodeling police service rooms at the Sheridan, Wyoming VA Medical Center. The solicitation requests clarification on details of a new panic button system and pistol lockers to be installed. It specifies that the panic button will integrate into the campus LynxClient alarm system to notify VA police. Four pistol lockers and two long gun lockers will be surface mounted in room 203 as shown on the drawings. The solicitation also provides responses to the questions asked, identifying the location of the pistol lockers on the drawings and clarifying that additional lockers may be needed to match the height of the long gun lockers.

RFI’S for Police remodel Sheridan VA
1) Needing clarification on the Panic button shown on ES201. Specifically, which system does this tie into? Who will it alert?
a) The new panic button, as called for with the “PB” hexagon symbol in the detention room, is a new wall mounted LYNX-WHL-IDPNP-1 wireless duress button to look like the one pictured below. There is already an existing wireless repeater in the area of the project so it should just be the wireless duress button that needs to be provided. The contractor is to integrate it into the campus LynxClient panic alarm system. This system notifies the VA Police via a console in room 201 and by radio in the event a duress button is pushed anywhere on campus.

2) Detention grade lockers are referenced in spec section 10 51 13, which is more of a standard locker room type of specification. Pistol Lockers are called out in the specifications under section 11 19 16, but there is no description or model number. Furthermore we also can’t locate the pistol lockers in the drawings to determine amount of compartments or if this is a flush or surface mounted application. Are pistol lockers required for the project? Is the pistol locker spec intended for the evidence lockers? Please clarify. A pistol locker brochure is attached for reference.
a) The pistol lockers are shown on drawing AQ101, Elevation 7, mark 106. The armory/ammo storage room 203 contains 4 pistol lockers and 2 full size lockers for long gun storage (mark 105). As shown in Plan 1 on that drawing, all of these lockers are intended to be surface mounted. The intent was to have 4 pistol lockers (106) that together equal the same height as the 2 long gun storage lockers (105). If available pistol lockers do not match the height of the long gun storage lockers our ideal solution would be to add additional pistol lockers such that the heights will match.
