About this file
This is Amendment 0002 to the solicitation 36C25726Q0260 for front sidewalk repair at Building 204 of the Temple Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Temple, Texas. The amendment, effective February 25, 2026, provides Requests for Information (RFI) responses and three attachments: Master Plan Sidewalk Repair-Patient Path, Master Utility Plan, and Combined Drawings. Key clarifications from the RFI responses include: the period of performance is 120 days (reduced from 360 days); concrete thicknesses and sidewalk sections are provided in updated drawings; removal and replacement limits for orange-painted curb and sidewalk areas are shown in updated drawings; downspouts should match existing specifications and drain to the driveway rather than new sidewalks to prevent slip hazards; security guards are not necessary; construction fencing must be 6-foot chain-link and screened; all four work areas are accessible simultaneously with phased details to be provided; and temporary ADA-compliant patient walkways with minimum 8-foot width and textured metal surfaces must be installed once Phase 1 begins.
The scope includes repairing all orange-painted concrete damage within the work area, installing two new downspouts, painting concrete to match existing colors, repairing column damage, disposing of paved tiles, and providing temporary traffic barriers. Work requiring loud noise, high vibration, or impacting hospital operations must be performed after hours. Contractors have access to a hose bib in the area and may use the fire hydrant if necessary. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged.
