About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for a VA solicitation regarding furniture installation at a childcare center in Building 75. The document addresses logistics and scheduling for furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) installation.

Key details include: The installation was originally targeted for end of February but has been delayed. The childcare center is located on the first floor of an existing, occupied building with no loading dock. The contractor must remove all packing materials and trash from the site, as no dumpsters will be provided. All items must be installed (no storage), including wall-secured items as required by manufacturers. The installation will be coordinated in phases with childcare staff and VA POC. The space is secure, and use of dollies/carts requires daycare employee approval. No extension was granted for submission beyond the original February timeline. The contractor is responsible for proper installation of all items, including securing items to walls where required by manufacturers.

1. What is the no earlier than date you project the building ready for the installation? The original goal was for everything to be installed by end of February. Since that date is missed, we are wanting to schedule as soon as we can.

2. What is the no later than date when you want the FF&E installed? The original goal was for everything to be installed by end of February. Since that date is missed, we are wanting to schedule as soon as we can.

3. Is there a loading dock at this building that we may use for unloading?

There is not a loading dock for this space, but it is on the 1st floor.

4. Is this childcare (CC) center located on the ground floor of the building? If not, may we use a freight elevator to transport the FF&E to the Child Care Center? Located on the 1st floor.

5. Is the building into which this CC Center is being furnished in a new construction building and if so what is the name of the GC? This is an existing space.

6. Will the building be occupied prior to the FF&E installation? Yes, the building is currently occupied. This will be a coordinated phased installation with the Childcare staff and VA POC.

7. May we utilize trash dumpsters for packing materials or are we responsible for backhauling all the trash off premises? Your team is responsible of removing trash and packing materials from site.

8. Does the government desire everything to be installed or only certain items installed with the balance placed in storage? Everything installed.

9. Some of these items are recommended to be secured into a wall to prevent tipping. Is securing these items into the wall part of this contract or will the GC be securing items? If the materials are required to be installed this way per manufacturer your team will be required to install properly

10. Approximately what is the difference between the loading dock or access doors in the building and the childcare center and may we use dollies and carts to transport the items down the hallways? No loading dock. Access doors are there, but this is a secure space. Dolly’s may be used depending on instructions from Daycare Employee.

11. Would you please grant us a three day extension for the submission? As we were wanting this by end of February, we are asking for no extension.
