About this file
This document contains responses to requests for information regarding the upgrade of elevators at Waco facilities. The solicitation seeks to bring existing elevators up to current safety and accessibility codes by replacing wiring, controls, and finishes. Interior cab components will be refurbished rather than fully replaced. All buildings have emergency backup generators to power elevator lighting and controls during outages. Life safety and fire protection systems will also be upgraded as needed. The opportunity was issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 17 for project number 674A4-22-807 to upgrade elevators at Waco facilities.

You generally would not replace the plaorm and retain the cabin shell as the cabin shell would have to be removed to replace the plaorm. 2.45 Is vague on if the plaorm will be reused - Most everything else states the reuse of major components but 2.45 seems to allude to a new plaorm and car entrance - 2.46 is contradictory stang reuse cabin shell and refinish cabin entrance.
2.45 CAR PLATFORM: PASSENGER/SERVICE ELEVATORS
A. The plaorm shall withstand the forces developed under the loading class specified. Provide car entrance with new stainless steel sill with machined or extruded door
2.46 CAR ENCLOSURE: PASSENGER/SERVICE ELEVATORS
A. Reuse exisng car enclosure. Refinish or replace damaged stainless-steel entrance panels.
B. Securely fasten car enclosure to plaorm by through bolts located at intervals of not more than 457 mm (18 in.) running through an angle at the base of panels to underside of plaorm.
KEEP EXISTING PLATFORM AND REFINISH AS REQUIRED.
