The solicitation number is 36C25723B0036 and seeks to upgrade elevators under Project 674A4-22-807. Acceptable equipment includes either submersible or dry pump units for hydraulic elevators. Listed below are a few RFI’s questions we need to have answered in order to complete our proposal.
Part 32 – Modernization of Hydraulic Elevator Part 2.14 Pump, Motor, and Valve Assembly. Question: Where applicable, will submersible style pump units be acceptable? Or is it required all pump units be “dry” pump units?
VA RESPONSE: EITHER IS ACCEPTABLE.
Traction Elevator – Equipment Rooms Building 7 and Building 11. Question: Will the VA approve modification of one of a wall to provide access to crane material into the equipment room? It appears this was done previously in Building 7 (see picture below). Once complete, wall will be built back.
VA RESPONSE: THIS OPENING HAS A LINTEL ABOVE AND CAN BE REMOVED FOR
ACCESS. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN OPTION THAT THE CONTRACTOR SHOULD
LOOK AT ALL RIGGING, ROOF OVERHANG, TILE ROOF, ETC.
Building 11 is similar to Building 7 except there is a roof deck we can land material. The wall we need to cut has a small door existing we’d like to enlarge and install a standard size door (see image below)
VA RESPONSE: THIS OPENING WOULD NEED A LINTEL SUPPORT ABOVE. WITH
THE STEEL BEAM ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WALL, OPENING WOULD BE
LIMITED. PLEASE NOTE; THIS IS AN OPTION THAT THE CONTRACTOR SHOULD
LOOK AT ALL RIGGING, ROOF SUPPORT, ROOF OVERHANG, ETC.
