STX Grease Trap Repair 36C25722Q0434

QUESTIONS SET A

1. This Project will take 72-96 hours from start to finish with no issues in between, and rarely are there no issues. Will the kitchen be shut down for the entire time?

No, due to paper supply issues, kitchen cannot close down.

2. The SOW calls for epoxy coating, we always coat with 120 Mils of epoxy can this be part of the SOW?

Contractor is required to know what type of epoxy coating is to be used.

3. Does the SOW include BOTH chambers of the Interceptor ?

The interceptor is concerned one unit.

4. The current interceptor has a coal tar coating which must be sandblasted off, can that be added to the SOW?

Yes, if interceptor has coal tar coating (and I believe it does) then yes.

5. The SOW calls for rerouting (diverting) the flow, is that still required since the job walk stated all liquid flow would be ceased.

Yes.

6. The warranty of the work as stated in the job walk was 10 years. This is not a problem, do the bidders need to provide a copy of the warranty, as part of the bid?

Yes.

7. Will 24-hour operations be allowed?

Yes.

8. The SOW calls for Confined space, will certificates of training be required as part of the bid?

Yes.

9. The SOW calls for Confined Space entry, monitored at all times, will a confined space plan be required as part of the bid?

Yes.

10. The pumping of the waste grease and all ancillary pumping of anything generated this is under the current contract, if the kitchen is rerouted, what coordination will need to be made to perform this service?

The current contractor will be notified to dispose grease accumulated by said contractor.

11. The Epoxy needs to be specifically designed for grease traps will a specification and SDS sheet be required for the bid?

Yes.

12. The SOW Stage 3 is inspection, who is performing the inspection?

SAWS

13. Since this was originally priced out, the costs have increased on the appropriate Epoxy, does the VA have any specification to the type of epoxy used, since there is epoxy that we routinely use that lasts and has a warranty that is rock solid, and then there are epoxies that say “they have a warrantee” but really do not stand behind it. What is the expectation here?
