About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a project to install isolation valves on the domestic water system at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. The project involves installing isolation valves in multiple locations, including 10 valve installations in the North Wing and additional valve placements, which requires extensive preparatory work such as asbestos abatement, wall openings, and air monitoring. The scope includes cutting wall openings, installing 2" isolation valves, reinsulating piping, and performing air sampling in compliance with state and federal regulations.
The project is structured with a 60-day preconstruction period for submittals and a 90-calendar day construction period, with work anticipated to be completed entirely after normal duty hours. The contractor must provide several key submittals including a construction schedule, asbestos abatement plan, safety plan, infection control plan, and air monitoring plan. All work must comply with OSHA regulations, VA technical specifications, and local, state, and federal requirements. The project aims to enhance maintainability of the water system and minimize operational disruptions at the medical center.
