About this file
This document contains answers to questions regarding a federal contract for asbestos abatement services. The abatement can be completed in one phase in the HIMS department at the Veterans’ Health Care System of the Ozarks facility in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Electronics, files and personal items will be removed by the VA prior to work commencing, while furniture, desks and office dividers will be the contractor's responsibility to move and store either on site in a provided Conex container or off site. Hot mastic was confirmed to be present. The contractor must obtain all required federal, state and local permits and licenses for asbestos abatement work. A temporary dump trailer can be used at the loading dock with an on-site dumpster location to be determined later. Negative air from the abatement must be routed out the nearest window as there are no windows in the work area. Tile is present under carpeting and millwork that will need to be replaced.
