*No more questions will be accepted.

No. Question Answer 1 Will there be a site visit? If so, when? Thursday March 28 at 8:30 am

– 11:00 am 2 Can we get 2 lines on the Pricing sheet?

Examples:

a. Line item1: For preventive maintenance to make doors AAADM compliant?

b. Line item 2: For the hourly rate to be charged for repairs?

a. AAADM is the manufacturer recommendations, the code requirements fall under ASNI and BHMA.

AAADM website:

b. Yes, See revised SOW for work outside normal maintenance and repairs.

3 Is there any requirement for yearly parts replacement?

Parts as recommended by the manufacturer that required replacement due to normal wear and tear. These would be items identified by the manufacturer that require normal maintenance and adjustment.

4 The PWS says "Work shall be daily" but many of the checks are only performed annually. Can you help me understand how to reconcile these two frequencies?

AAADM recommends daily inspections for operations and are listed under part 3.0 of the SOW. This would include adjustments as needed to the operation of the door.

5 The PWS says, "An outline of the PM procedures and schedule shall be provided to the COR." Is that outline required with the proposal or upon notice of award?

Yes, with the proposal for evaluation purposes.

6 I see the price schedule only asks for a flat rate for the entire year. Considering the solicitation states, "Service calls during the VA normal business hours and related to malfunctions not successfully preempted by preventive maintenance services shall be at no additional cost to the Government".

a. Is there any way to bid a variable cost portion for emergency service calls outside normal business hours?

b. What about malfunctions caused by damage or improper use of the automatic doors which preventative maintenance services could not possibly have preempted?

A CLIN was added for emergency call back. See revised SOW

b. Service calls should cover to get doors back online and operational. A separate parts rider has been added for non-routine service parts.

c. The appendix has been updated to reflect the additional doors.

http://www.aaadm.com/

c. Are you able to provide the make and model of the doors located at the facility associated with the solicitation?

7. In the SOW, it states 'approximately 277 doors' but lists 256 doors.

a. Will the VA provide a clear list of the quantity of doors? If not, should contractors be expected to quote for all doors listed and not listed?

Reference response to item 6C, revised door list is provided

7. In the SOW, it states 'approximately 277 doors' but lists 256 doors.

a. Will the VA provide a clear list of the quantity of doors?

b. If not, should contractors be expected to quote for all doors listed and not listed?

a. See response to 6C above, this has been corrected.

b. See response to 6C above, this has been corrected.

8. The American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers recommends bi-annual PM service as opposed to Annual. Will the VA consider bi-annual PM services?

Semi-annual inspections are required per AAADM, SOW has been updated.

9. In your solicitations it identifies only 277 automatic doors we identified 317 can you clarify the total number of doors?

Reference response to item 6C above

10. Can you Verify if there will be any overhead doors and curtains? They are not listed in the equipment list but are included in the SOW.

Only swing and slide doors, no overhead doors. The slide doors are connected to turn the air curtains on upon opening on some of the building entries around campus.

11. How many callouts per year has the VA had for doors needing servicing separate from the Preventative Maintenance Work?

This information is not available
