About this file

This document contains responses to requests for information regarding solicitation number 36C25623R0122 for the upgrade of roof systems at a Veterans Affairs facility. The awarded contractor must possess a current and valid Arkansas contractor's license, even if their state reciprocates licenses, and any subcontractors must also be licensed in Arkansas. The responses clarify that while Alabama may reciprocate licenses with Arkansas, the awarded contractor must still obtain an Arkansas license, and that subcontractors are also required to hold valid Arkansas licenses.

RE: RFI RESPONSES TO RFP 36C25623R0122 |

UPGRADE ROOF SYSTEMS

1. Could you please confirm if the awarded Contractor needs to hold an Arkansas Contractor's License?

Note: We meet this requirement as Arkansas reciprocates with Alabama General Contractor Licenses.

RESPONSE: Yes, the awarded Contractor needs to hold an Arkansas Contractor’s License. The awarded Contractor must be able to provide the VA with a current, valid Arkansas Contractor’s License number. Even though Arkansas reciprocates with Alabama, the awarded Contractor must go through the process with the State of Arkansas to obtain a valid AR Contractor’s license number.

2. I am going over the SOW and ran across a qualification I am not familiar with. It stats in section (a) under contractor requirements that the "contractor must possess an Arkansas Contractor's License". My question is can my SUB contractor be a Arkansas Contractor License holder?

RESPONSE: See above. The awarded Contractor must possess an Arkansas Contractor’s License. Yes, the subs should be licensed in Arkansas, but the awarded Contractor must also possess a valid, current Arkansas Contractor’s license.
