Contractor Question
Government Response
All Referencing the Statement of Work and the spreadsheet entitled “Analysis AHU Yearly Filters” a contractor inquired about the varying filter frequencies and quantities.
Specifically clarification was requested for the following: “On the original submitted with the SOW, only AHU 1 & 2 require pre filter changes monthly, whereas on the most recent spreadsheet, AHU’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7 require these changes bi-weekly.
The Duramax V4 only had AHU 1 listed on the original spreadsheet, and the recent one has AHU 1, 2, 3, 4, & 7. And there are no HEPA’s on the original spreadsheet, and 40 (Merv 17) on the most recent (which also varies from the written answer in amendment 1). With such drastic changes that will affect the price significantly , could you provide further clarification on what frequency and quantities are accurate, since they both refer to the same equipment listed in Table A?”
The 2” pleated, MERV 8 pre-filters that take in fresh air should be changed monthly (AHUs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7). The exhaust 2” pre- filters shall be changed quarterly (EAHU 1, 2, 3, and 4). The bio max filters (V4 and V2- MERV 11) should be replaced annually. The true HEPA filters that are MERV 17 (AHU 1 and 2) will be changed out by the facility (not part of this contract) using a pressure drop method.
Side Note: The return fans for the AHUs 5,6, and 7 are external to the unit, but as shown in the site-visit, the return fans are an integral part of the AHU system.
