Room Certification Contract

The following question and responses:

1. Question: In the performance work summary on pages 9 and 10, point 14.0 describes service requirements for servicing fire dampers. Is this to be performed during this contract? What is the number of units and services required?

Answer: Point 14 and its related parts were included in this scope of work in error. It has been eliminated from this project.

2. Question: SOW point 2.3.1 directs balancing water and air flow at source equipment all the way down to service locations. Is this to be done at each interval? Is this for all the HVAC equipment on campus?

Answer: This directive is only required for those rooms that do not meet ASHRAE requirements for certification. It offers direction and access to whatever equipment is needed in the troubleshooting and rectification process to ensure all designated areas stay certified.

3. Question: What type and on which equipment is electrical measuring required by point 2.3.3 (Measuring electrical performance of HVC equipment.)?

Answer: The intent here is for field verification of control power and function. The SOW will be amended to reflect this intent.

4. Question: Point 4.2.1 requests that the findings narrative be presented to the VA in a Microsoft Word 2010 or later version. TAB certification agency regulations stipulate that reports are only valid if presented in a non-editable format to maintain integrity of certification. Will another format be acceptable?

Answer: Given this stipulation, we will accept the certification reports in PDF format.

5. Question: How are the reports to be verified and presented as viable certified reports? Is there a Joint Commission stipulation on certifications?

Answer: Certification reports shall bear the stamp of the certified firm provided by the accrediting agency (NEBB or AABC) .
