Question
Answer
1.
GC101
On sheet GC101 it shows an 800A breaker added in MDP-9 to feed a temporary 300KVA transformer that then feeds to the new boiler trailers. I’m guessing the 300KVA transformer is supposed to step up voltage to 480V but no specs are given for this transformer. Please provide specs for 300KVA transformer.
The transformer feeds the temporary boiler lineup. This is a step-up transformer with the primary on the transformer at 208-volt, 3-phase and the secondary of the transformer at 480-volt, 3-phase.
2.
GC101
On sheet GC101 the electrical feed to the temporary boiler trailers is shown to be (1) 3” conduit with (4) #350 and (1) #4. This conduit runs overhead to the boiler trailers and then splits to go to both trailers. This leads me to a couple questions. How is this feed supposed to split and catch both trailers, no junction box or splice point is shown. The only overcurrent protection shown on this feed is the 800A breaker in MDP-9, are fused disconnects going to be provided with the boiler trailers?
Boiler trailers will be fed from a distribution panel. Refer to updated drawing E-601 for additional information on the temporary power distribution system.
3.
Page 17 S-502
(Upper Platform Section) Please confirm the new WT6 beam will slide down and will fit between the existing bottom of support trusses.
The web of the WT6x17.5 is 5/16” thick. The original structural drawings (dated 1932 and can be obtained from the COR) note that roof truss gusset plates are 3/8” thick. Contractor to field verify and provide alternative (welded “T” plate) at no additional cost if required.
4.
Will WT6 beams fit between current rivets in trusses?
The WT6 bearing pieces should be located and sized so as to fit between the existing rivets. The exact locations of the WT6s and the exact length of all framing beams will need to be determined in field.
5.
If a WT6 beam falls in location of a current rivet, does the WT6 Beam section get notched out to clear a rivet?
The WT6 can be notched around a rivet. See #4 above for more information.
6.
Please provide clarification for verification on which panel we will be feeding the boiler out of? MDP-9 or 10-34
Per drawing GC101, temporary boilers are fed from MDP-9 inside of ground floor of Building 9. Transformer to be outside of Building-9
7.
Who is the current Boiler Controls vendor?
The Boiler plant uses Energy Conservation Supply (ECS) for the Boiler controls

12.
Has there been an Asbestos Inspection done, and if so, where could I find it? There is no specification section 02 82 11.10.
Found in Appendix A(Asbestos Report.pdf), attached.
13.
In review of the specifications, it is referencing Appendix A however we cannot locate Appendix A for Abatement, Section 02 82 11.10 nor Appendix A for Division 23 HVAC for locations, and quantities but I can’t find Appendix A, BEI 5th Edition. Provide clarification on these items and issue to us if applicable to the project
