About this file

This file is a Questions and Answers document related to a federal solicitation for a forklift procurement. As a Q&A document, it does not address specific required products or services beyond what is outlined in the primary solicitation. The document serves to clarify requirements and answer vendor inquiries regarding the Topeka VA Medical Center's forklift replacement project (Solicitation Number 36C25526Q0355). To obtain the substantive details regarding specifications, pricing, response deadlines, and award information, reference should be made to the primary solicitation document and the Statement of Requirements, which specify a 10,000 lb. capacity forklift as a name brand or equal replacement for the existing Clark C35L equipment. The procurement is being conducted by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 15 for the Colmery O'Neill VA Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas, and includes requirements for installation, training, warranties, and support services at no additional cost.

Questions . To provide an accurate and competitive trade-in valuation, we would like to submit the following questions for clarification prior to the June 8th deadline:

1. Make and Model: While the Statement of Work identifies the current unit as a Clark C35L, could you please confirm the exact year and specific sub-model configuration?

1. Serial Number: What is the serial number of the current forklift?

1. Usage: How many hours of operation are currently recorded on the unit’s hour meter?

1. Visual Documentation: Can the Government provide current pictures or videos of the unit to assist in assessing its overall condition for trade-in?

Answers Photos are attached – including serial tag.

Unit was received in February of 2011 new.

Unit has 6’ forks.

Hours are unknown due to electrical problems resulting in the replacement of the dashboard twice. Unit has a known hole in the catalytic converter which tends to set off a warning sensor for the engine – though it’s not affecting the engine. All work has been done by the local Clark Dealer. Per the Clark dealer – they recommended we not replace the converter as it was estimated at over $7,000 and they knew we were going to be getting a new machine.
