About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document from a site visit conducted on February 7, 2025, for pest control services at the Marion VA Medical Center in Illinois. The document addresses nine key questions related to bid submissions, scope, and operational requirements for the pest control contract.
The Q&A clarifies that vendors can change previously submitted bids since this is a new procurement. The facility requires integrated pest management services across approximately 500,000 square feet, with bed bug treatments priced historically at $225 per visit. The vendor will be responsible for providing and servicing all equipment including rodent stations and bug lights. For pricing, vendors must determine the total hours needed for CLIN 0001 (Integrated Pest Management Support) and provide a per-room price for CLIN 0002 (Bedbug Room Treatment). A new primary care/women's health building, to be completed in 1-2 years, may be added through a contract modification. The VA will provide fire escape routes and a campus map marking buildings requiring service.

Pest Control Site Visit 2/7/25
Questions
1. Can a person change the bid from the one previously submitted if needed after the site visit? Yes they can, this is a new procurement.
2. Can you differentiate the cost for bed bugs, termite, and bird control? Please provide square footage for these areas so cost can be accurately determined. The square footage is around 500,000. As far as square footage, bed bug calls are normally isolated to a particular room, area, or vehicle (sometimes). I do know that in the past, it was just a fixed price of $225.00 per visit, for bed bug calls.
3. Will the new primary care/woman’s health building part of this contract? Completion of this building is 1-2 years out. Would this then be a modification??
4. Can you provide a copy of the fire escape routes? Probably?
5. Can you supply a campus map marked with the buildings needing serviced? Pretty sure we can do that.
6. Does the VA own the rodent stations or is the vendor required to provide them? Vendor supplies.
7. Does the VA own the bug lights or is the vendor required to provide them? Vendor supplies and services.
Question asked later.
8. Quantity is 1 HR for CLIN 0001, Integrated Pest Management Support for Marion, IL VA Medical Center and selected Campus Buildings, Marion, IL (Cost Per Hr.). Is the offeror responsible to determine the total amount of hours? Yes, the vendor is responsible for telling us how many hours will be needed.
9. Quantity is 1 (JB) for 0002, Bedbug Room Treatment per room at the Marion VA Medical Center.
