END OF STATEMENT OF WORK
36C25525Q0049 INITIAL ONLINE Q&A
QUESTION: Do the AmeriWater RO Water Purification Systems already exist? Since it has the VA ID# and serial # I am assuming this equipment is already installed.
RESPONSE: We have a RO unit now but we need a complete new system, both sites.
QUESTION: If we are providing that hardware, do you have a contact at AmeriWater so I do not have to start from scratch?
RESPONSE: We are not providing the hardware.
QUESTION: Would you be open to an alternative RO system? We manufacture RO system right here in Kansas City. If so, I can quote our system that would comply with the project.
RESPONSE: yes
QUESTION: D.1. Statement of work #2 said “It may be advisable to install a sand type filter in the system at the Topeka site.” Since this is a bid with strict specifications, I don’t want to add a system and then be overpriced. Should I add a sand system or not?
RESPONSE: The incoming water is very different in Topeka than in Leavenworth. The system we have now is burning through the charcoal and resin filters at a much higher rate in Topeka than Leavenworth. The sand filter may help to reduce that. I just want everyone to know that there is a big difference in the incoming water between the sites
QUESTION: Currently water testing is only performed at the beginning and end or the loop while ST108 requires additional testing at beginning and end of the loop but also at each point of use location within the SPS system. All new equipment will address the additional test locations.
In order to properly size the SPS system we need to know:
1. Total Flow rate and pressure requirements for the loop to service the existing equipment and any planned additional SPS equipment for both locations?
2. Total Flow rate for the return loop to storage tanks for both locations?
3. Current SPS equipment along with model numbers should be included to support the sizing of the water treatment system for these devices for both locations?
RESPONSE: 1. No planned additional SPS equipment for both locations.
2. No flow rate to the storage tank, no monitoring for both locations.
3. See revised Statement of Work
QUESTION: Is there going to be a site visit for both locations?
RESPONSE: There is a schedule site visit for both VA locations:
1. Leavenworth, KS: Thursday, 11/21/2024 at 9:00 a.m. CST at loading dock by main entrance of the hospital.
2. Topeka, KS: Thursday, 11/21/2024 at 1:00 p.m. CST BLDG #3, room C33.
