Questions & Answers Project 657-19-108JB
1. At the walk through it was mentioned by the VA maintenance people that if the system needs to be drained, the VA will install any additive or glycol and the contractor will not be responsible for that. Is this the case? Yes.
1. How many rooms will be emptied out at one time? Our intent was around 3 rooms at a time, but dependent on your crew size. The rooms will remain occupied during the day
1. Can you please confirm the working hours for this project? Are they 5pm – 8am Monday thru Friday? Yes.
1. How many fan coil units will we be allowed to replace at a time? Can we work on multiple fan coil units at the same time? Depends on crew size.
1. When a fan coil unit is disconnected, does the new fan coil unit need to installed and operational by the end of the same 8 hour work shift? If not, after a fan coil unit is disconnected, how many hours / days can fan coil unit be out of service before new fan coil unit must be operational? Depends on location. Active rooms need units operational next day.
1. At the pre-bid meeting, it was stated that the existing ceiling in the rooms will be removed for fan coil unit installation. Does electrical scope of work include removing light fixtures, speakers, and other items in the ceiling and then re-installing after fan coil unit is replaced? This work is NOT shown on electrical drawings. Minimal ceiling work is expected. Most units should be able to be replaced without fully lowering the ceiling and associated electrical equipment. Where required, it would be in scope to temporarily relocate.
1. On at least one of the floors of the Building #1, existing ceilings are spline tile. Will the spline tile ceiling be removed/replaced for fan coil unit change out? No. Leave them in place.
