Answer: Yes Question 2. Does the requirement to provide AF mitigation options include providing recommended settings for circuit breakers with adjustable trip units? This is considered good practice in the industry but is something many firms avoid doing. (This is recommended).
Answer: Yes Question 3. Do the labels need to have a required PPE list in addition to the arc flash level?
Answer: Yes Question 4. Can data found on one-lines and other documents be used in place of field verified information? (improves safety and minimizes equipment outages) Answer: Yes Question 5. Will the test reports for the equipment be provided and can the data on those reports be used in place of field verified data?
Answer: I am in the process of locating previous test reports but have not located yet. But yes, If I can locate these the data can be used.
Question 6. Is the scope limited to the equipment shown on the one-lines?
Answer: No. All equipment included and not included on one-lines needs to be included in the study.
Question 7. Is the arc flash report required to have both a coordination section and short circuit evaluation section? (This is recommended Answer: yes Question 8. “What is the total count of “serviceable” pieces of equipment 208/480/160 volts and 60 amps and greater. This includes, but is not limited to: fused disconnects, panelboards, transformers, motor starters, vfd’s, control cabinets, air compressors, generators, rtu’s, hvac units, main switchboards, etc.”
Answer: Undetermined Question 9. Has a previous arc flash study been performed?
Answer: Yes Question 10. Could we get a list of the buildings to be included in the study, with square footage, number of floors, age?

Answer Training will need to be provided.
Question 14. It was mentioned during the walk through that only electrical equipment on drawings would be assessed. However, to have a complete arc flash study per NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584 would require assessments performed on all three-phase equipment including small disconnects and control panels. Can we have clarification on scope of work in regard to the equipment that will be assessed.
Answer All equipment Question 16. Are drawings/reports from previous Arc Flash studies available?
Answer: I possess hard copies on station Question 17. What is the approximate number of busses in the system?
Answer: Undetermined at this time Question 18. Are existing system single line drawings and panel schedules available?

Answer Yes Question 20. Is it acceptable during data collection to remove panel covers for visual observation of breaker/feeder information with the panels energized, or will de-energizing be required?
Answer Yes Question 21. Is there a preference for size, format and color scheme for the Arc Flash labels, or will this be left to the contractor to determine?
Answer I have no preference; however, the label will need to be reviewed by myself before installation.
